Vicios Modernos

Ceesepe, García-Álix

Las Ediciones de la Banda de Moebius. 1979. First Edition. Softcover. 32 Pages. Book: VG+.

Spanish painter and designer Ceesepe is one of the key figures of La Movida, the countercultural movement that took place mainly in Madrid during the Spanish transition after Franco's death in 1975. His work is closely identified with Pedro Almodóvar after having designed the movie poster of his debut film Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón (1980) and La ley del deseo (1987), among others, but also for drawing some of the most remarkable underground comics in the late 70's as part of the Cascorro Factory collective. Co-founded alongside the talented photographer Alberto García-Alix, Vicios Modernos is the best example of their collaboration as most part of the Ceesepe drawings -including the cover-, were made from the iconic photos of García-Álix. Highly recommendable.
